I always hated stout. I heard it very strong, bitter in taste... until I tried Guinness a few weeks ago, and I like it.
By the way, there is no second dust storm in Sydney this weekend. The warm orange color in the photos is purely from the light emitted from the incandescent light bulb in the room.

The Red (planet) Sydney
9.23.2009

When I woke up this morning I saw a bright red light shining through the glass window of my apartment door. For a short moment, I thought the apartment was on fire again as it had happened a few weeks ago. I rushed to open the door... the sky was orangish red. In fact, it was even more red hours earlier. The color of sky was caused by a storm happening over night, which brought dusts to cover and spread over Sydney. At the time of this writing (13:13), the sky becomes gradually clear.

Beer of the (last) Week
9.21.2009

I was supposed to take a photo of this beer last weekend, but I felt lazy and forgot about it. However, because this is the last bottle, I have to take a quick photo before the bottle is empty...
This is ale tastes good, but if I were to pick between this and Coopers Sparkling Ale, I'd pick the latter.

One Night in Alice Spring
9.19.2009

During my trip to Ayers Rock, the red rock in the middle of Australia, Tom and I had to stay overnight in Alice Spring. We chose Alice Lodge hostel based on the recommendation of a guide book.
The price is good, and the place is quite clean. There is a shared kitchen, two shared bathrooms, as well as a swimming pool which we didn't get to use. That night instead of eating fast food, we grilled marinated Kangaroo steak and some chicken skews bought from Coles supermarket.
After dinner, we joined with a few people from the hostel to a local bar. The above photo was taken after we got back from the bar. Most of us were already a little bit drunk, but I guess we weren't drunk enough since we managed to finish off Tom's Jack Daniel's. (>.<)

Yoko's last day in Sydney
9.14.2009

Last week, I was on a semi-road trip with a friend, Tom, who visited here from Seattle. It was quite fun, and I would blog about that later.
I came back to Sydney from Adelaide on Friday, and I was glad that I could make it in time to see Yoko off at the airport on the following Saturday.
In picture from left to right are Midori, your truly, Kazu and Yoko.

9.05.2009

Today, I went to Blue Mountains national park with my brother and a friend, Tom. In the above picture is the 3 sister mountain.
Sorry guys and girls, there is no picture of beer this weekend. But today's drink is Jack Daniel's and Coke.
